Fishing Etiquette and Guidelines

First, thank you for choosing Cow Creek Ranch for your Fly-Fishing adventure. To keep our fish healthy and our fishing quality high these are the fishing rules to fish these waters. We require everyone to follow these rules to help us ensure that the all fisherman can have an exceptional experience here at Cow Creek.

• Catch and release only
• ONLY single barbless hooks on all flies
• No bait or lures should be fished at any time
• Limit your rigs to no more than 3 flies in the water at once
• Please fish only your assigned beats and ponds
• Drive on designated roads only and park vehicles in designated parking spots
• Handle fish with care and only keep fish out of water from 2-3 seconds at a time for photos
• Do not encroach on other fisherman and their allotted beats
• Use the “leap frog” method when fishing in groups
• Life jackets are required while using Canoes for anyone under 13 y/o
• Please keep dogs on a leash while fishing
• Limit yourself to 5 fish per pool or 20 minutes per pool
• No articulated streamers
• CCR requests the rights to use any photos that are taken while on the ranch
• Bathrooms are available in the lodge
• Please pack in/pack out all trash
